Impromptu call - Help is on the way

Sep 20, we visited Blk 162, Yishun Ring Road, Blk 126, Yishun Street 11, and Blk 701B, Yishun Ave 5.
The residents were delighted to see our Team and very enthusiastic to help us to do a checklist of the total number of needy who require our daily supply of free lunch everyday between 9am to 12 noon at the pick up venue @Blk 701B void deck.

In fact today's visit led by Desmond Lim Bak Chuan was impromptu to us volunteers because he received a request at the nick of time from an elderly who lives alone @Blk 126. Mr Tan contacted Desmond in panic because he lost his job and as a result he doesn't have the financial ability to even buy himself a proper meal.

Thanks to DLs Caring Community Mr Tan managed to get a temporary job as a security guard while continuing to receive free lunch everyday. This reminds me of the saying "WHEN GOD CLOSES A DOOR, HE OPENS A WINDOW." Life is a wonderful thing to be able to care and share!

The Team also met his neighbor Mdm Yin by chance as she opened her door and after hearing her neighbor's plight, she shared with us that she is suffering from Stroke (Cerebro infarction). She was very touched after knowing there is a charitable organization by the name of DLs CC aka Dedicated Locals Caring Community that actually delivers free lunch in the community.

Today, she registered with us for assistance. But this is not the only surprise of the day for Mdm Yin because with God's grace we "stumble" upon her friendly neighbor Mdm Ang who offered to help Mdm Yin to collect the free lunch and bring it to her doorstep everyday unconditionally.....a friend in need is a friend indeed! Our society need more kind people like this to care and share for one another isn't it?

Last but not least, Desmond Lim as usual did not even utter a word about his background. Let's care and share my dear friends! Have a blessed Sunday!

  1. Wow! Roy Ngerng.
