Doubling the Benefits for the residents

The DLs'  Caring Community decided to head down to Blk 499C Tampines Avenue 9 today with a few more volunteers of the day, to touch base with the people. It was an exciting moment and DLs' Caring Community (together with Willing Hearts) is currently in the process of shortlisting another couple of locations to kickstart this Lunchboxes Giveaway Program, hence it was important for the team to familiarize themselves with the operations so they could front the project at other areas.

忠民关怀社今天与其义工到达淡滨尼9巷，跟那里的居民交流。这正是一个精彩的时刻，忠民关怀社与"愿之心“福利组织合作，展开了这项分发午餐餐盒的活动，也正想把其他服务带到那里的居民，让义工能够继续把这份爱分享到岛国的其他地区。

Mdm. Choo is the key-person and resident volunteer here, identified to be the "leader" of the program here at Blk 499C Tampines Avenue 9. Her role is to help inform and gather all her neighbours and fellow residents of this area, and liaise with DLs' Caring Community's lunchboxes delivery crew so as to ensure smooth distribution of lunchboxes at 12noon on a daily basis.

 

朱女士是这项计划的主要居民义工，被公认为那里的社区领袖。她的任务就是负责联络和召集邻居和居民，再与志工递送员约定，让午餐餐盒能在每天12pm准时送达。她很高兴今天有多了帮手，忠民关怀社观察到其他义工如身着蓝衣的陈先生也时常帮忙朱女士，让那里有需要的居民能够享用到美味可口的午餐。朱女士表示很荣幸能够共襄善举，一起照顾那里的居民，我们的社团也对她表示万二分的谢意。

 

 

She is very happy to see the extra pairs of helping hands this afternoon. The DLs' Caring Community team observed that other residents such as Mr. Tan (in blue) also drop by frequently to help Mdm. Choo out, as they chatter happily away while giving out piping hot boxes of cooked food.

"I feel glad that I am able to be of assistance in this heart-warming project - thank you for taking care of us," Mdm Choo told the DLs' Caring Community team, when she was being thanked for her help.

今天社团也与人民行动党的议员马炎庆和他的组员巧遇，与我们社团的主席林睦荃融洽地交谈，让他知道为当地居民提供援助的重要性。据知，淡滨尼区的行动党团员也是为慈善而来，把几十包的米分给那里租赁组屋的居民。两个团体都一致认为人民的利益为先，都愿意致力改善当地人民的饮食与环境。忠民关怀社很高兴能够为居民提供更多援助，也愿意与任何政党,宗教组织或商业机构合作把爱带到更多居民。

Coincidentally, representatives of the ruling party were here today as well, led by MP Baey Yam Keng, who enjoyed a meaningful discussion with DLs' Caring Community's Chairman, Desmond Lim, on the importance of providing assistance for the people. The members and volunteers representing Tampines GRC were here to connect with the residents and give out sacks of rice to them.

Both groups agreed whole-heartedly that the people's interests are very important, and that they would strive to work towards bettering the people's lives. DLs' Caring Community is happy to see that more assistance is being rendered to the residents, and that they are able to coordinate well with any organisation, be it any ruling parties, religions groups or commercial organisations who are willing to put the people's interests above themselves to offer help.
