Launching of Lunchboxes Giveaway Initiative at Tampines - 10 June 2015 (Wednesday)

As part of the DLs’ (Dedicated Locals) Caring Community initiatives, we kickstarted yet another rice-giving project today! This time round, we gave away cooked rice though – 50 packets of warm lunchboxes wafting with delicious aromas – to the cheery elderly residents gathered at Block 499C Tampines Avenue 9.

At the void deck of Blk 499C Tampines Avenue 6, the DLs’ Caring Community group liaised very closely with Mdm. Choo, who was the identified Leader of this group of elderly residents, helping to gather them and collaborate with our volunteers on the delivery of lunchboxes. From today onwards, this group of residents will be receiving 50 boxes of lunchboxes on a daily basis. The original values of this initiative are firstly, to supply the needy residents with a meal a day and secondly, so that they get companionship while they gather together and tuck into these piping hot meals.

This is a very heartwarming gesture, thank you all,” quipped the happy residents as they smiled gratefully at the volunteers handing out lunchboxes.
